Flash Coffee Cipete Raya is a three-storey corner store on one of South Jakarta’s busiest neighbourhood roads, and the flagship of the brand’s newest design direction. The project turns an ordinary corner building into a landmark, and gives the community a place to stay, work and meet across three floors.
The 3.5 design: a new façade
The upper floors are wrapped in a curved skin of orange glass blocks, a deliberately experimental material for the brand. By day the blocks catch the sun and read as a warm, textured surface; at night they glow from within, turning the whole corner into a lantern on Cipete Raya. Below, a dark timber canopy carries the FLASH COFFEE lettering at street level.
The glass-block façade is the clearest expression of the 3.5 design and a test bed for where Flash Coffee stores can go next: instead of relying on bright yellow signage, the building itself becomes the sign. Using a familiar, affordable material in an unexpected way gave the store a strong identity, privacy for the floors above and soft, filtered daylight inside.

Inside
The ground floor is organised around the bar, set under a deep timber grid ceiling that brings warmth and rhythm to the space. Yellow tile, terracotta feature walls and a glowing pastry display keep the brand present without overwhelming it.
Upstairs, the floors become lounges: large round pendant lights, cane-backed chairs, soft sofas and long counters facing full-height windows over the street. A carved terracotta relief wall, framed batik-inspired panels and breeze-block screens add a distinctly Indonesian texture, while planters and daylight keep the rooms fresh.
Each floor offers a different way to stay, from quick coffee at the window bar to longer sessions in the lounge, which makes Cipete Raya work as a true neighbourhood third place.
