Flash Coffee Merr occupies a long, narrow shophouse in Surabaya. The design uses colour to lead customers from the street to the back: a yellow-tiled bar and pink FLASH lettering at the front, a red feature wall with the lightning logo, then calmer grey concrete seating zones further in.
Continuous linear lights along the ceiling and walls stretch the perspective of the plan, while booth seating, high tables and framed artwork break the length into distinct places to sit.
A red-and-yellow stair leads to the upper floor, turning circulation into one of the most photographed moments of the store.
