Paus Cottage is a two-storey family cottage for the Putri Duyung resort in Ancol, Jakarta. Named after the whale, it takes a bold, rounded form that stands out among the resort’s gardens while offering more space for families and groups.

The dome-like shell, clad in dark shingles, shelters an open ground floor and a lofted upper level. Living, dining and pantry share one bright space that opens to a private pool terrace, while a sculptural timber stair leads up to the bedrooms.

Natural materials run throughout: timber wall panels and herringbone headboards, woven pendant lights, rattan furniture and calm grey stone. Master, twin and family bedrooms each have their own character, with generous windows framing the garden and the sky.
