Mrs DL Apartment is a studio unit in Menteng, Jakarta. The challenge was to fit sleeping, working, cooking and storage into a single room without it feeling crowded.
Layout
A tall slatted timber cabinet near the entrance acts as a screen, separating the kitchenette from the bed area while keeping light and views open. The rest of the furniture lines the walls.
The spaces
Warm wood flooring, white cabinetry and soft linen tones make the studio feel calm and airy. The bed sits on a base of deep drawers, and a desk and window seat share the light from the window.
Custom pieces
Every built-in was drawn as a buildable piece with dimensions and finishes: the kitchen and pantry, the slatted walk-in cabinet, a desk with storage, the storage bed and a wardrobe with a space for a water dispenser.
